Wake up at 2:00 AM to begin your guided, starlit hike up Mount Sinai. Reach the summit just in time to witness a breathtaking, spiritual sunrise over the mountain peaks. Descend the mountain to visit the ancient, fortified St. Catherine's Monastery, home to the legendary Burning Bush. Afterward, drive back to Sharm El Sheikh to sleep.
After breakfast, check out of your hotel and transfer to the airport for your domestic flight (or take a scenic overland transfer) to Cairo. Arrive in the bustling capital, check into your new hotel, and enjoy a free evening.
Meet your Egyptologist and head to the Giza Plateau to marvel at the Great Pyramids and the Sphinx. Spend the afternoon exploring the massive, modern Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM), viewing its world-class collection of pharaonic statues and artifacts.
Dive into the city's rich history. Visit the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization (NMEC) to see the Royal Mummies. Next, explore the medieval Citadel of Saladin, and end the day getting lost in the enchanting alleys of the Khan El Khalili market.
